Soy una artista Chilena. Desde pequeña que me dediqué al dibujo, específicamente a los retratos realistas en grafito. Durante mi formación profesional como arquitecta, aboqué mi pasión por el dibujo en la representación arquitectónica de planos y axonométricas, aunque siempre manteniendo en paralelo el dibujo de modelos de formas orgánicas como el cuerpo humano y el estudio de elementos de la naturaleza. Mi gran interés radicaba en la textura de lo representado, ya sea el tipo de suelo de un plano o las arrugas de la piel de una cara. Una vez finalizados mis estudios me dediqué por completo al arte, y seguí esta exploración ya iniciada sobre las texturas, pero lo llevé a una expresión volumétrica, en principio utilizando materiales propios de la arquitectura como concreto y yeso, lo cual se traspasó a materiales más fáciles de moldear como la greda y finalmente la plasticina. La plasticina es el material en cual trabajo y realizo mis esculturas, las cuales son parte de una exploración de formas orgánicas, texturas y color. Además de ello la plasticina, al ser utilizada por niños tiene una connotación infantil y lúdica, algo cual intento mantener en mis trabajos. Los trabajos en plasticina comenzaron como relieves adosados al muro, aunque de a poco me he ido desprendiendo de este elemento arquitectónico y confecciono esculturas que cuelgan, cuales se han vuelto cada vez más grandes, por lo que tienden a una intervención del espacio, y así también incorporan nuevos materiales, como objetos encontrados, tela, lana, etc. Mi inquietud por las texturas sigue vigente, aun así se le han incorporado otros temas como el movimiento, la transformación y el deterioro.

Ich bin ein chilenischer Künstlerin. Da ich ein kleines Mädchen war, widmete ich mich dem Zeichnen, speziell zu realistischen Porträts in Graphit. Während meiner beruflichen Ausbildung als Architekt veröffentlichte ich meine Leidenschaft für die Zeichnung in der Darstellung von architektonischen Plänen und Axonometrien, obwohl ich immer parallel die Zeichnung organische Formen wie den menschlichen Körper und das Studium der Elemente der Natur. Mein großes Interesse lag in der Beschaffenheit dessen, was vertreten war, ob es die Art des Bodens eines Plans oder die Falten der Haut eines Gesichts war. Sobald ich mein Studium beendete, widmete ich mich ganz der Kunst, und ich folgte dieser Erforschung auf Texturen, die ich bereits begonnen hatte, aber ich nahm es zu einem volumetrischen Ausdruck. Am Anfang verwendete ich architektonische Materialien wie Beton und Putz, und dann einfacher, als Ton und schließlich Knetmasse zu formen. Plasticine ist das Material, in dem ich arbeite und mache meine Skulpturen, die Teil einer Erforschung von organischen Formen, Texturen und Farbe sind. Außerdem wird Plastilin von Kindern benutzt und hat daher eine kindliche und verspielte Konnotation, was ich versuche, in meinen Werken zu bleiben. Die Arbeiten in Plastilin begannen als Reliefs an der Wand befestigt, obwohl sie nach und nach von diesem architektonischen Element unabhängig geworden sind, da ich jetzt hängende Skulpturen mache; Diese sind immer größer geworden, also auch ein Eingriff des Raumes. Auch jetzt habe ich neue Materialien wie gefundene Gegenstände, Stoffe, Wolle usw. aufgenommen. Meine Arbeiten entwickeln diese Erforschung für Texturen weiter, aber auch andere Themen wie Bewegung, Transformation und Verwitterung wurden aufgenommen.

I am a Chilean artist. Since I was a little girl I dedicated myself to drawing, specifically to realistic portraits in graphite. During my professional training as an architect, I released my passion for drawing in the representation of architectural plans and axonometrics, though I always kept in parallel the drawing organic forms such as the human body and the study of elements of nature. My great interest lay in the texture of what was represented, whether it was the type of floor of a plan or the wrinkles of the skin of a face. Once I finished my studies I devoted myself completely to art, and I followed this exploration on textures which I had already begun, but I took it to a volumetric expression. At the beginning I used architectural materials such as concrete and plaster, and then easier ones to mold as clay and finally plasticine. Plasticine is the material in which I work and make my sculptures, which are part of an exploration of organic forms, textures and color. Besides, plasticine is used by children and therefore has a childish and playful connotation, something that I try to keep in my works. The works in plasticine began as reliefs attached to the wall, although little by little they have become independent of this architectural element, as now I make hanging sculptures; these have become increasingly large, therefore are also an intervention of the space. Also now I have incorporated new materials such as found objects, fabric, wool, etc. My works keep developing this exploration for textures, yet other themes such as movement, transformation and weathering have been incorporated.
